Registration Questions

What if I do not have paypal or the online registration is closed, how can I register and pay?

If you do not have paypal, please zelle [email protected].. Send an email to [email protected]. mentioning you zelle the registration fee and put down you and your partner’s full name, age, division, Playbettr rating and playbettr email (put down your email if you do not have a Playbettr email yet).

What should I do if I want to withdraw before the deadline?

Email to [email protected] mentioning you would like to withdraw. Your name will be taken off from the event player list, refund will be processed after the registration deadline. $3 paypal processing fee will be applied to each transaction withdrawal.

How many events can I play and which level should I play at?

Players can join multiple events, with one division per event. Example if a 55 years old male player, he can join men’s 4.5 50+ on Saturday, Mixed 4.5 50+ and 50+ Open on Sunday if he is interested. He cannot join men’s 4.0 and 4.5 at the same time. Please register the corresponding level as your DUPR rating. Participants can play above their rating, but not below. If a player has a 3.49 or below rating, the player can join any divisions of 3.0 and above. If a player has a 3.50 or higher rating, the player can only join divisions of 3.5 and above. Enter as a team. Both partners have to be above 50+ to join 50+ division. If I am 49 and my partner is 51, my partner and I cannot join 50+.

Tournament Questions

What will be the tournament format?

5-10 teams

– For brackets with 5 teams, you will be playing a double round robin, one game to 11, win by 1. 

– For brackets and groups with 6-7 teams, you will be playing a single round robin, one game to 15, win by 1. 

– For brackets and groups with 8-10 teams, you will be playing a single round robin, one game to 11, win by 1. 

12-18 teams

– For brackets with 12 teams and above, you will be divided into two groups. You will first play a round robin to determine your placement, then first two places of each group will be playing a medal round. 

– Group A 1st place will play against Group B 1st place for the Gold medal match and Group A 2nd place will play against Group B 2nd place for the Bronze medal match. Medal matches will be one game to 15, win by 2. 

Combined age brackets

– For brackets mixed with 8+, 35+ or 50+ teams, you will play against every team and medals will be awarded separately to 8+, 35+ and 50+ winners according to overall records, including matches against both age groups. 

– If there are more than 4 teams in your age group, the top two 8+ teams in group A will play the top two 8+ teams in group B for 8+ medal round. The top two 35+ teams in group A will play the top two 35+ teams in group B for 35+ medal round. And the top two 50+ teams in group A will play the top two 50+ teams in group B for 50+ medal round.

– The top 3 teams in 8+, top 3 teams in 35+ and top 3 teams in 50+ will be awarded with our customized CAPA medals. 

50+ Open & Women’s Open (18 teams max)

– Teams will be divided into two groups according to your team’s combined DUPR rating. Group matches will be a single round robin, 1 game to 11, win by 1. 

– First 2 places of each group will be playing in the semi finals, then winners of the semis will go to the gold medal match and losers of the semis will go to the bronze medal match. Playoff matches will be one game to 15, win by 2.

Men’s Open (36 teams max)

– Teams will be divided into four groups according to your team’s combined DUPR rating. Group matches will be a single round robin, 1 game to 11, win by 1. 

– First 2 places of each group will be playing in the quarter finals, winners go to the semi finals, then winners of the semis will go to the gold medal match and losers of the semis will go to the bronze medal match. Playoff matches will be one game to 15, win by 2.
